Our Programs

Positive Changes Youth Ministry (PCYM) currently offers several free programs to students in the Asheville City and Buncombe county school areas. Many of these programs give students a chance to get paid while learning valuable skills needed in life. Some transportation is available.

Our Trip - Each summer Juniors and Seniors  take a week long college tour planned by a committee of students. This gives many students the opportunity to see schools available to them inside and outside of North Carolina. In 2017 PCYM traveled through the north eastern region of the USA and visited several colleges, including  HBCU's. Each year we plan to visit a differnet region of the U.S. to explore. We intend on helping students find the best college that fits for them. Space is limited so put your application in today!

PCYM offers high school students a chance to tutor students in the homework club and get paid for the hours worked. Students must first complete a tutoring certification class to build the necessary skills to begin tutoring other students.

The Youth Council represents a practical way of enabling youth to have a meaningful role in helping solve community problems. Students will lean the processes of different forms of city meetings as well as address major concerns facing them today. This is offered by PCYM to both middle and high school students. Students will be paid per meeting attended. Some transportation is available. Space is limited so sign up today!
